Heavy snowfalls that overwhelmed some European countries at the weekend disorientated Russian skiers who went to Andorra on March 4th via Barcelona. According to a participant of the forum on the professional portal www.tourdom.ru aka Alexaka, some passengers of the flight 3101 by KD-Avia left Russia without their luggage. ‘Due to a strong wind in order to make a flight safer it was decided to refuel the plane followed by aircraft capacity reduction. Therefore, some luggage was left at the airport’, said a representative of Domodedovo Airport, Anastasia Volnova. Vremya-tour, that consolidated the flight, commented on the situation as follows: 1,300 kilograms of luggage was left in the transit zone of the airport. The flight was realized by Boeing-737-300 with 148 passengers – all of them with ski equipment - on board. Besides, it was the last flight to Barcelona on March 4th. The luggage could have been transferred with previous flights, but we could not anticipated the weather’, explained Alexander Skalin, Director of Vremya Tour.
As a result 85 tourists left Moscow without their luggage. According to KD-Avia, it will be transferred by Swiss Air on Tuesday via Geneva at the expenses of the Airline.
