Meanwhile, Russian tourists do not seem interested in the remarkable natural phenomenon. A BANKO correspondent found out that Russian tour operators point out that only 2-3% of Russian tourists demonstrate enthusiasm towards traveling to countries to witness the solar eclipse that is not enough to stimulate considerable increase in demand.
Russian tourists do not need to travel abroad to watch the rare phenomenon as it is expected in Sochi, in the Elbrous region and in the Altai. However, the mentioned regions also do not plan to welcome many tourists. Thus Zoya Guieva, Director of Ozon-Cheget located in the Elbrous region have not heard about the solar eclipse: ‘It is the end of the season, therefore we do not expect increase in demand including on March 29th’.
